Join us 6:30 PM for Pizza, followed by
the Meeting and Education Segment

 

On Thursday, June 5, we’ll hold our Monthly Member Meeting, where we’ll be reviewing upcoming cruises and social events, followed by our Education Segment.

As part of our June meeting, we’ll be serving pizza. Please bring your own beverages. If you’ll be at the meeting, please help us with ordering enough pizza letting us know how many are coming. If you wish to enjoy the pizza, it’s very important you RSVP by Tuesday, June 3.

Our 50/50 raffle will be held, so please bring cash (small bills) to participate in this fun, and potentially rewarding, activity.

 

Education Segment

Florida FWC and the Recreational Boater

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

Our speaker this month is Bradley Johnson of Florida FWC. FWC has a number of roles related to our sort of recreational boating, and the speaker will address a variety of topics.

* General info on what FWC does for boaters, emergency response, enforcement

* Boating Freedom Act: just signed by Gov. and what it means for law enforcement

* PLB & EPIRB – how FWC receives and coordinates with Coast Guard or local responders

* Bloopers, funny events, and dangerous situations they have had to deal with.

Bradley was born and raised in Lee County, and has been assigned to this area since joining FWC. He is very familiar with the local waterways conditions we encounter in our cruises.

This should be an interesting and informational segment.
