 5\nJoin us 6:30 PM for Pizza\, followed by\nthe Meeting and Education Segm
 ent\n&nbsp\;\n\nAt February’s member meeting\, we’ll be voting to appr
 ove the slate of candidates for the next watch that begins in March. (Nomi
 nations from the floor will also be accepted.)\n\nAs part of our February 
 meeting\, we’ll be serving pizza. Please bring your own beverages. If yo
 u’ll be at the meeting\, please help us with ordering enough pizza letti
 ng us know how many are coming. If you wish to enjoy the pizza\, it’s ve
 ry important you RSVP by Monday\, February 3.\n\nOur 50/50 raffle will be 
 held\, so please bring cash (small bills) to participate in this fun\, and
  potentially rewarding\, activity.\n\nIf you haven’t paid your 2025 PGIs
 landers dues yet\, please bring your payment for $15/person. A check payab
 le to PGIslanders is preferred to cash. Thank you.\n\nEducation Segment\nS
 ound Effect Does the Big U\n&nbsp\;\nConnie and Jim Merritt\n&nbsp\;\n\nWh
 at is the Big U? The “Big U” is a saltwater-based path that begins fro
 m either coast of North America and ends on the opposite shore\, using the
  Panama Canal as the adjoining waterway. The result is an expansive\, rou
 ghly U-shaped journey that provides a breathtaking tour of the North\, Cen
 tral\, and South American coastal waterways.\n\nPGIslanders Jim &amp\; Con
 nie Merritt are members of the minority of boaters that have cruised the B
 ig U. At our meeting\, Jim will tell the tale of the journey that brought 
 them from the Pacific Northwest all the way to Punta Gorda on their 38-foo
 t sailboat\, Sound Effect. This should be an interesting presentation that
  will leave many of us jealous of the amazing adventure Jim and Connie sha
 red.\n\nSee you Thursday!
